NIKE - Rivalries Uniform

(PROJECT DESCRIPTION)

The Miami Dolphins Rivalries Uniform, created in collaboration with Nike as part of the Rivalry Program, was nearly two years in the making, a true team effort from concept to final execution. The challenge was clear: craft an alter-ego identity that pushed beyond tradition while staying true to the Dolphins brand. Since black wasn’t an option within the team’s official color palette, we partnered closely with Nike and the NFL to develop a unique shade, Pitch Blue. Derived from skewing the team’s navy darker, Pitch Blue became the foundation, giving the uniform its stealth edge and setting the tone for the “Dark Waters” narrative. Aqua numbers, finished with a reflective treatment, mimic the shimmer of ocean water under stadium lights, while sharp orange accents inject unmistakable Miami energy. The matte Pitch Blue helmet, marked with “305” across the front and a bold sunburst accent at the back, reinforces both city pride and the deep-water hunt theme. Every detail, from fabric selection to color science, was intentional, resulting in a uniform that embodies intensity, unity, and defiance. The Rivalries Uniform was an instant hit with fans, an evolution of the Dolphins' identity built for the fight.
